Expanding At Eve’s Wake Through the Power of Modular Narrative

Most narrative games are designed with a very tight narrative scope in mind. But what if you want to leave room for more? In this session I will talk about how we designed At Eve’s Wake as a modular Visual Novel and how this made it easy to expand the narrative for our Definitive Edition. More specifically, I’ll focus on how design and toolset can compliment one another.
I’ll also talk about the lessons we learned from designing a complex narrative game like At Eve’s Wake and how we applied our new knowledge to our last content update.
